P5/EWAN port MAC address changes on reboot

I'm running an 8900AX2400 running firmware 2.52.d52

I'm currently using my IP provider's modem with the 8900 as my router. The 8900 is connected to the modem via the P5/EWAN port.

To avoid double NAT issues, in the modem setup I assigned a fixed IP to the 8900 and put it in the DMZ - the problem I've encountered is the MAC address associated with the 8900 P5/EWAN port changed after I rebooted the 8900 so the modem naturally assigned it another IP address from the DHCP pool, which isn't in the DMZ.

Is a variable MAC address a 'feature' or a bug? If a 'feature', is there a way to stop it changing?

Try fixing the MAC via MAC spoofing (IPoE mode only)

(from my home 2400 I haven't experienced this with my Virgin Super Hub in modem only mode, in default mode without mac spoofing I get the same WAN IP from Virgin (after rebooting the virgin super hub), if I use the mac spoofing option eg changing my MAC address, I get a new IP address for virgin

Thanks billion_fan! I hadn't spotted that option on the IPoE parameter page. I've defined the MAC address and will check it survives a reboot when I can get away with an internet outage  . Cheers, Mike
