Bipac 8800 AXL R1 and 2 are they still worth buying?

I am considering buying one of these for Talktalk Fibre as I am having issues with the one they provide. I do have a 8800nl but is missing a bit on updated firmwares and only one ethernet ports of the four is Gigabit. Is this still worth buying now and does anyone knows power comsumption in watts? I have also seen a (R1) available, same sort of firmware version available, is there a substantial difference beside the shape colour/ and the extra port. Is the chipset the same?
