Yeah tried putty. Not too familiar with it tbh so just enntering the ip address nd leaving the default ports as they are but no connection.

I can't even ping the router ip. Must be the firewall doing its thing

Yep sounds like the LAN side firewall is doing its job correctly (default ports 22 SSH/ Telnet 23 are un-adjustable internally)

Well I've had it apart today and resoldered a couple of suspect joints but still no joy. It does still work but the fact I can't get into it is really going to bother me so if its ok to post here, do you have any recommendations for a unit to replace the 8800AXL R2 or maybe suggest a newer unit out there if there is one. I know It was my own fault that i closed the door by ticking the firewall box but because i can't factory reset the box it would make me stay clear of this unit again tbh.

Right now there's a stock issue, I would look at the 8900 series (once we get stock again)
