It's finally here, after several weeks of testing and preparation. We are pleased to announce the release of the 7800DXL and 7800VDOX in the UK.
Some key features I would like to highlight.
1) Concurrent Dual band - 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz
2) Pretty fast WAN throughput (tested 600Mbps +)
3) Gigabit WAN and LAN (FTTC ready)
4) Multiple SSID with client isolation. 4 SSIDs each band and you can create guests access so that guests cannot access your LAN but for Internet access only.
5) Time Schedule can be applied to wireless SSID to control WiFi access time so ideal to control access for children.
The main differences between the 7800DXL and 7800VDOX is the 7800VDOX has VPN endpoint and VoIP ports built in.
Some quick photos for your reference.

Re: New Products Release 7800DXL AND 7800VDOX
In testing how does the wireless capabilities of these two new peoducts compare to the 7800n?
I have my current 7800n in a front upstairs bedroom and this sends an excellent signal around a fairly large house with a floor and a couple of walls between rooms. I upgraded the standard anttennas for 8dbi units to achieve this performance.
Would I be disappointed with the new products performance compared with existing?

Unfortunately the antennas on the 7800DXL/ VDOX are non detachable so you won't be able to change them. I am now using the 7800VDOX at home replacing my 7800N in a typical three bedroom semi. I personally found the wireless coverage are similar in my environment but the 5Ghz felt pretty fast.
It is always hard to rate wireless performance when you have walls or glasses in different environments. Most tests are done on distance with line of site and they don't really reflect what we have in a typical home. I will say the 2.4Ghz performance is similar to the 7800N but the additional 5Ghz is a real benefit.

How do sync rates compare with the 7800N and is there still an ability to change SNR percentages in the router setup?

The sync rates are really good, and yes you can change the SNR to a set value,Spudgun wrote:How do sync rates compare with the 7800N and is there still an ability to change SNR percentages in the router setup?
Attached is a screen capture of the SNR page on the 7800VDOX

Thanks for the reply and information. Where you say sync speeds are really good, are they better (e.g. higher) than the 7800N or about the same as the 7800N didn't seem to like my line very much and syncs about 1mb slower than 2 other broadcom chipset routers that I have triedbillion_fan wrote:The sync rates are really good, and yes you can change the SNR to a set value,Spudgun wrote:How do sync rates compare with the 7800N and is there still an ability to change SNR percentages in the router setup?
