2.4g Auto Channel selections

Post by clive65 »

I'm curious to know why the 8900AX-2400 only chooses channels 1,6, and 11 in auto mode?
I was hoping the Billion would be more "intelligent" in it's auto channel selections and not just follow the usual "auto" selected channels that all the other routers seem to use and therefore be able to select a less crowded channel on it's own without manual intervention on my part to "force" a less crowded channel like channel 13 for instance.

I'll check with our engineers,
Here is the feedback from our engineers (its a Broadcom thing)

8900AX-2400 2.4GHz choose channel 1,6,11: Wireless system code will auto determine and think that channel is better in that current time.

The Broadcom code is very complicated which uses internal calculation formulas to pick the best channel
