yay it has an Autoreboot feature finally ! :) No more programmable socket with dodgy clock that I couldn't get to easily.

Firmware looks good, much more features added all over, including system up time which I am sure was not there before...

Hi

System update was there before.

It would be better if we had a watchdog option in addition to this. If the unit freezes then it will not be able to reboot itself, however a watchdog is a separate bit of hardware in the chip that will detect this and reset the device even where the operating system has locked up.

The 7800N had this on a hidden menu, Billion is there an option on these newer models?

Haven't had it lock up yet though, been 20 days before a firmware update needed me to reboot.

Regards

Phil

After checking with our engineers they have stated the only feature is the 'AutoReboot' page found on http://192.168.1.254/autoReboot.html

My unit is stable, it has improved a lot since the beginning since release.

I use the Autoreboot feature to get me best syncs of the day. Very pleased with the latest firmware.

As for watchdogs, this is standard for any electronic system, i guess it is weather or not they have enough system checks to ascertain what classifies as a watchdog condition.

Sorry, I saw it after because I didn't try to download it. Works perfectly for me, no problem. Just a problem with the configuration wizzard after rebooting. When you ask to use an ethernet connection, I can't set all parameters (not available) and the wizzard fails.

What connection are you on FTTC BT, Sky, Virgin cable, talktalk etc??

Orange Fibre (FTTH on the EWAN socket). When the wizzard ask xDSL or Ethernet, I choose Ethernet and I can't set the ID for the Internet (or TV, or VOIP). The wizzard stop here and try to connect without more settings and fail.
