My experiences with Netgear are extremely poor, both equipment and service.

The Asus is known to have firmware issues but also major WiFi problems with connection drops.

I come back to Billion because the support in the UK is extremely good , they go out of their way to help customers.

Just hope they come up with this new router soon.

My only good experience with netgear was the dg834gt back a few years. I quite liked this current one but they need to do a good GUI update with decent stats.

I did indeed have an issue with the Asus dropping WiFi for half a day, other than that its been solid.

I've always had good experiences with billion also. The UK support seem brilliant although I've heard people complaining about lack of firmware updates for certain devices.

Do billion have a built in VPN function? This is another point I like about the Asus, I can create a config fine for android and import in the openvpn app and route my internet traffic to home. Especially good when working abroad.

The 7800N I have running has VPN , so I guess other models do too.

Nice! I'll read into their user manuals. Hope a new billion is released soon though with good range.

Maybe it is more adjustable then. It still looks like a bag of spuds.
